About the event
The Charlotte 49ers, in conjunction with the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina, will host the Spring Stroll for Epilepsy from 9 a.m. to 11:30, Saturday, April 6, at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center. This event is to raise money and awareness for epilepsy. Rain location is the practice gym at Halton Arena.
Music, games and other activities are provided. Several Charlotte student-athletes, who volunteer their time at a variety of community events throughout the year, will be on-hand to assist.
The majority of funds raised will go to the “Medication Fund,” which assists people across the state who cannot afford their seizure medication. Funds from the Spring Stroll will benefit in-school education programs on epilepsy, in-service training for professionals in the workplace, support groups across the state, advocacy and counseling and the epilepsy helpline and newsletter.
